Drag Brushing is an essential part of any pitch maintenance programme. Through general use the infill levels will be dispersed naturally towards the edges of the artificial pitch, away from the high-traffic areas. As the infill acts as the wearing course, it is essential that this is returned back to these high-use areas to prolong the life of the carpet.
Drag Brushing helps to achieve this and is normally carried out on a weekly basis (industry standard), with a Drag Brush or Mat attached behind a suitable grounds maintenance vehicle. Technical Surfaces can provide this service or supply various types of Drag Brush, Mats and other equipment through our AstroTech range, to allow this process to be carried out in-house

This is a reversible brush for regular brushing on synthetic grass surfaces. It has stiff bristles on one side and softer bristles on the reverse. The aggressive side is used to de-compact the infill and lift it to the surface, where it can be cleaned up with the Cleansweep, the softer side is used for more frequent brushing and for brushing the infill back into the surface.
This brush when used in combination with a Cleansweep and Greensweep forms the Sweepfast System, the Cleansweep will separate the debris from the infill layer which has been lifted out by the brush and then puts the cleaned infill back into the carpet and finishing off with the Greensweep to mop up the remaining debris which has been graded onto the surface
